慶應義塾大学経済学部嘉治佐保子研究会です。国際経済学 (国際マクロ経済学・欧州経済論) について学んでいます。 全て英語で行われるゼミです。
Sahoko Kaji Research Seminar, established 27 years ago, belongs to the Faculty of Economics of Keio University. Taught by Professor Sahoko Kaji, the seminar covers topics on international economics, especially on open macroeconomics and Europe. Students in this seminar learn the basics of open economy macroeconomic theory to better understand global economic issues. Our seminar is one of the few undergraduate seminars at Mita Campus that operates entirely in English!

Degree: M.A. in Economics (Keio University), Ph.D. in Economics (The Johns Hopkins University)
Research areas: Open macroeconomics, Economies of the EU
At Keio University, Professor Kaji is the Coordinator of the Professional Career Programme (PCP) and the FinTEK Center, and is the Academic Director of PEARL.
She has also been a member of several societies and governmental councils.
How we Study
In this seminar, the students are free to explore and pursue their research topics of interest. Third year students focus on group research as well as studying lecture notes on open macroeconomics, while fourth year students focus on individual research and the graduation thesis.
Students are trained to write and present in English, and to process large amounts of information effectively. Professor Kaji emphasizes the importance for students to think daily, and to ask the right questions. Then, she encourages students to find their own answers, and to be able to defend them.

Events
As a seminar, we participate in economics seminar events such as sports events (the Softball and Volleyball Tournament) and the Keio Mitaron paper, and host reunions with alumni (OBOG) once a year. The students also organize a few dinner parties throughout the year, as well as an optional trip.
In Japanese: 嘉治佐保子研究会では自由でアットホームな雰囲気の下全て英語で国際マクロ経済学・欧州経済論を学びます。時には、本ゼミやサブゼミ以外でも自主的に集まって勉強会を開きますが、飲み会やバーベキュー、経ゼミのソフトボール大会、スポーツ大会など、息抜きもちゃんとしています。半学半遊ならぬ全学全遊、そんな嘉治ゼミでの時間は、皆さんの自主性次第で非常に充実したものになります。
